Cultural Heritage Incentives

The Central West Catchment Management Authority's (CMA) Cultural Heritage Incentive Program is designed to provide assistance to land managers to conserve, restore and manage the cultural resources on their land.

There are many aspects of the landscape which contain Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Values. Historically, many non-Aboriginal people have viewed Aboriginal cultural heritage as identifying archaeological sites that need to be protected. The reality is that Aboriginal cultural heritage concerns are far broader. Within the social fabric of traditional Aboriginal society, people had cultural obligations to care for Country and many Aboriginal people still feel a level of obligation today. For more information on Cultural Values go to Fact Sheet 1.

Your project will be required to meet minimum standards and will be assessed on merit. Please refer to Fact Sheet 3 for project minimum standards. Most projects will also require a cultural heritage assessment. Fact Sheet 2 has a list of Service Providers.

If you are interested in applying for Cultural Heritage Incentive Funding, please contact your local CMA office to obtain further information and an Expression of Interest (EOI) Form
